Born: 20 January 1978
Place of birth: Cape Town, South Africa
Marriage: I am married to Tineke, and we have 4 kids (aged 9, 7, 4 and 1)
Education:
* University of Stellenbosch, South Africa
* Theologische Universiteit Kampen, Netherlands

Employment:
From October 30, 2005 until March 31, 2013, I was minister of the Free Reformed Church Maranata in Pretoria. On the 1st of July this year we hope to move to Kiev, Ukraine, to take up a position as lecturer at the Evangelical Reformed Seminary of Ukraine in dogmatics and church history.

Current studies:
I am busy with a thesis under prof. Erik de Boer (Theological University, Kampen & the Free University, Amsterdam) about John Calvin’s commentary on the book of Acts. My research question is: What is the significance of Pentecost and the consequent work of the Holy Spirit for the formation and restoration of the church and the believers in Calvin’s commentary on the book of Acts?

Appreciation:
I really appreciate the opportunity to make use of the facilities of the Johannes a Lasco Bibliothek in Emden. The staff has been very helpful, and it is wonderful to study in such an historic setting. Thank you very much!
